Welcome to the Context Web. The purpose of this site is to establish a contact point on the Web for the international and interdisciplinary group of researchers who are interested in the many roles of context in a variety of fields, including:

Questions addressed by this community include: What is context? How can it be represented? How can the current context be recognized? How can contextual knowledge be acquired? How does context impact computer and AI systems?

The context community has an associated biennial conference on context, the International and Interdisciplinary Conference on Modeling and Using Context (CONTEXT). The most recent conference was CONTEXT'07, in Denmark, August 2007. The site for CONTEXT'09 has not yet been determined.
